Nerja, like the rest of the towns on the Costa del Sol, is very accessible from any point in the world. All flights end at the Málaga Picasso International Airport. From there, it’s easy to reach Nerja.
By car, Nerja to the east is approximately a 45 minute drive away. From the airport, travelers should drive out turning right at the ramp, driving all the way to the roundabout. Proceeding straight at the roundabout, they then take the on ramp to the N340 highway towards Almeria and Motril. Once on the highway, a straight drive without deviating will lead right into Nerja. On approaching Nerja, a sign will indicate where to leave the highway.
By taxi, the trip takes approximately 30 minutes. The estimated fare is 60 Euro. The taxi stand is right outside the arrivals area at the Málaga airport.
By bus, travelers will have to first take the number 19 bus, Aeropuerto, from the Málaga airport to the Málaga bus station. There is a bus leaving the airport from 7:30 to 24:00, every 30 minutes. From the Málaga bus station, travelers must purchase a ticket from the Alsina Graels Bus Company office for Nerja.
By train, travelers should take the train from the airport station. This is outside the main international terminal. After exiting the airport, there is a footbridge to the right. Across the footbridge is the train station. First train leaves at 7:15 and then at 45 and 15 minutes past the hour. The trip takes approximately 12 minutes and ends at the Málaga station. Then, it’s possible to transfer to a bus to Nerja, following the usual procedure.
