There is a wide variety of things to do for visitors in Nerja, beginning with water sports. The various resorts of Nerja all offer canoeing, jet skiing, boat trips, and scuba diving sessions.
Outside of the town area, one can rent mountain bikes for a number of places. The Club Nautique Nerja Outdoor Activities offers horse riding. One can also go climbing and trekking in the mountains, or go on a jeep safari across the wilderness area.
As for dining and drinking, visitors can try out the Arab tea place, the Jardin de Al - Andaluz. This is an interesting little bar and the only Arab teahouse in Nerja. With an ambience that is typical laid back Arabic, the Arab Tea Place serves a variety of Arabic teas and pastries, and other types of mixed drinks besides.
Every Tuesday there is a local market in the town offering excellent deals on shopping. Tennis, golf, and squash are also readily accessible, while the mountains are an excellent place to go hiking.
